Manchester United To Complete Signing Of Morgan Schneiderlin

According to French media outlet, L’Equipe Manchester United have finally secured the signature of Southampton ace midfielder, Morgan Schneiderlin. They have had to fight off competitions from rivals, Arsenal for his services, and his inclusion in the Manchester United squad will come a long way in strengthening their already- ageing midfield.

The 25 year-old will no doubt serve as a long-term asset, and finally, a suitable and worthy replacement for the 34 year-old Michael Carrick has arrived Old Trafford. Carrick definitely doesn’t have much years of topnotch football left in him after having served as a great pivot in the heart of the Red Devils’ midfield for 9 years.

Morgan Schneiderlin’s time at Southampton since 2008 has seen him grown and risen into a great midfielder. His performances helped promote the Saints from the Championships, and having spent 7 years at the side, moving to a bigger side like United is the best thing that would have happened to his career thus far. The France international has also opined of his desires to play in the Champions League, and that isn’t forthcoming at Southampton. With United guaranteed of European football, his dreams finally come true. His move to Old Trafford is reported to have cost 30 million Euros. His consistency at Southampton also saw him attract offers from both of Arsenal and Tottenham last Summer. Arsenal relaunched a bid for the services of the Frenchman, but United were ready to pay the asking price.

The Red Devils have also lined up offers for Bayern Munich’s midfield maestro, Bastian Schweinsteiger as replacement  for Carrick. However, the high profile Germany international might wish to stay put at Munich having integrated himself into the Pep-led team. Whatever the case is eventually, Morgan is a perfect fit and a great mould for the United midfield. His arrival will make him the 2nd arrival in summer after LVG acquired the signature of PSV’s Memphis Depay.

Morgan Schneiderlin’s arrival will take off the work load off Michael Carrick, as the 34 year-old has been prone to injury in recent times, getting sidelined for the major part of the reason, and struggling to recover on time after resuming.  With the French man set to be officially unveiled in a couple of days, United’s chances of challenging for the title and returning to the Champions League on greater strides surely would increase with the quality he brings. His deeply playmaking ability will be needful as he is at the peak of his career, and can contribute immensely to the aspirations of Manchester United.
