Manchester United To FINALLY Announce Pedro Signing, £22m Release Clause Triggered
According to reports, Manchester United coach Louis van Gaal – who has since been on the lookout for top-quality forwards to add to his squad- may now have a bit of respite, with the assurance that Spain and Barcelona winger, Pedro would eventually make the move to Old Trafford.
According to various reports, Barca coach Luis Enrique has recently consented to the 27 year-old winger’s desire to leave the club in order to secure regular first-team football. He has also noted that the player would leave only if his transfer fee is fully met, and that no agreement would by any means be reached for a deal below the player’s £22 million release clause.
However, Coach Enrique’s stance seems to have softened up a bit. Ed Woodward and United’s financial powers have reportedly tabled a bid for the player in the region of £18 million; and reports indicate that Barcelona are currently considering the offer, and may indeed give a green light to the player’s transfer.
As it stands, and with Barca’s seeming willingness to negotiate, United are expected to announce his signing soon; howbeit, not until after Barcelona’s UEFA Super Cup match against Sevilla on August 11th, which is expected to be the player’s last showing in Barcelona colours.
