In recent light of Manchester United being linked to a host of several big name signings, Guillem Balague has stated contrary to reports that the Red Devils never tabled any offer for Cristano Ronaldo or Neymar but were interested in luring Welshman Gareth Bale to Old Trafford.
Manchester United have been linked to several marquee signings after Louis Van Gaal claimed Manchester United needed a player with pace and creativity to be relied upon in crucial moments. Also the loss of Argentine winger Angel Di Maria further fueled the pressure on Manchester United to bring in a replacement, with names like Neymar , Bale and Ronaldo all linked with a move to Manchester United.
Many would agree that out of all three players, Gareth Bale’s transfer seemed like the most likely transfer to happen, as a dream return to Old Trafford for Cristano Ronaldo seem very much unlikely to happen. While the Neymar rumour which is actually the strongest out of all three also seems unlikely as the 22 year old is playing his best football for Barcelona at the moment.
However Guillem Ballague has reaffirmed this point claiming a bid never went out from Manchester United for both players. He was quoted as saying in an interview “Good start!“This summer Manchester United were willing to pay a huge amount for Bale but learnt quickly he was not going anywhere. “They have not bid for Cristiano (even though they have always said they have the finances for it) or Neymar. Fascinating stuff what is behind the Neymar rumours…”
