Manchester United Vs Liverpool Team News

The weekend will be all about the battle of the Reds, as Manchester United and Liverpool face off in what promises to be a thrilling encounter with both squads having majority of their key players all available to play. New United signing, 19 year-old Anthony Marshals will also likely feature, and many can’t wait to see what he can or cannot do on his EPL debut.

A welcomed development for United will be the return of David de Gea to the goal post after having been out of action since the season started due to his transfer saga. LVG named Argentina international, Sergio Romero as his preferred choice in-between the sticks as he believed DeGea could have difficulty concentrating with his heart already set on a Real Madrid move.

But after the deal surprisingly fell through on transfer deadline day, Spain team coach, Del Bosque has backed his player to put the past behind and turn up for United hence. The 24 year-old is set to return to the sticks against Liverpool, following Romero’s poor performance against Swansea.

Midfielder, Michael Carrick who also earlier looked like a doubt seems likely to feature in the high-profile match, the England international picked up a calf injury during the international break, raising fears he could be spending time on the sidelines, but he is now fit.

Liverpool will be without the services of suspended Philipe Coutinho, but it is hoped that his fellow Brazilian, Firmino will help the Reds feel Coutinho’s absence less. The Merseyside skipper, Jordan Henderson is currently not fit, and there isn’t news yet as to if he will feature or not.

They can however bank on the availability of Belgium international, Christian Benteke who was unavailable for his country’s first game of the break, and was also substituted at halftime in the next game. But the coach said it was only a tactical decision, and he has since been declared fit to play.
