Manchester United Vs Tottenham – Likely Line Up, Depay Starts

Manchester United and Tottenham will face off in the Barclays premier league curtain-raiser and the game promises to be a very tight contest as both teams have very high ambition this new season and will want to have a good start.

Manchester United have come out on top considering the last five games between the two clubs. The London club had beaten Manchester United at their home for two consecutive seasons until last season’s drubbing.

Although Manchester United have had a good pre-season, so also Spurs, but both teams are bound to be nervous as it’s their first Premier league game of the season. Last season, United were beaten at home in the opening fixture, so it will be difficult to predict the outcome.

PROB TEAM:

MAN UTD

Louis van Gaal has stuck to a four man defense during pre-season and it’s expected that he will continue the same on Saturday. De Gea is expected to start in goal. The four defenders are expected to include: Daley Blind at left side of defense alongside Phil Jones, Luke Shaw and Mateo Darmian are expected to start in the full back positions considering their impressive pre-season form.

United midfield is likely to consist of either a combination of Herrera and Schneiderlin or Herrera and Carrick. In attack, we are most likely to see Ashley Young playing on the left-side, with Juan Mata operating from the right with Depay and Rooney in attack.

TOTTENHAM

They haven’t been able too active in the transfer market, but they still have a good enough squad. Vorm is expected to start in goal, in defense, the quartet of Rose, Vertonghen, Alderweireld and Walker are expected to start. While in midfield, the trio of Mason, Bentaleb and Eriksen are expected to start, while Chadli and Caroll are expected to be joined by Harry Kane in attack.
