Real Madrid is ready to step up their bid for Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea as they look set to launch a 30 million bid for the 24 year old. Spanish Goalkeeper David De Gea has been in an impeccable form this season producing some fine displays. These fine displays have caught the attention of Madrid who would be looking to lure the shot-stopper to the Bernabeu.
The Spanish giants are tipping David De Gea to be a long-term successor to Spanish number 1 Iker Casillas who is gradually reaching the end of his peak. Real Madrid are reportedly said to be ready to triple De-Gea’s wages just to bring him back to Madrid having already started his career at Atletico Madrid before he rose through the ranks to become first choice and then later joining Manchester United. The Spanish Giants will be looking to capitalise on his Madrid heritage to bring him to the club. If Real Madrid is able to complete the signing of David De Gea it would be regarded as a very good piece of business.
The Spanish goalkeeper’s reputation keeps growing as each matches come with his spectacular performances and outstanding saves. Conceding a total of 20 goals in 20 appearances despite the Manchester United defensive crisis that has seen Coach Louis Van Gaal field several patched up defensive line-ups is a great feat. Thibaut Courtouis who is also considered as a very good goalkeeper has conceded 19 goals this season, one less than David De Gea with a much better and consistent defence in front of him.
David De Gea has a made a total of 58 saves so far this season with some particular important ones against Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool and a host of others. With this impressive statistic and performances, Madrid fans will gladly welcome De Gea to the club. Madrid has had to endure some torrid displays from their goalkeeper Iker Casillas, who has shown he can not be relied upon when his strong defence has been breached. A handful of these fans believe the time of Iker Casillas is over with some poor displays this season and a new goalkeeper should be brought in to replace the Spanish number 1. Being Madrid-born the great shot stopper with his amazing reflexes would fit the profile of Madrid’s next top goalkeeper for years to come. A defence like Madrid that possesses the likes of Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Raphael Varane, Marcelo and Fabio Coentrao coupled with De Gea will be unstoppable.
However, Coach Louis Van Gaal will be looking to renew David De Gea contract by doubling his wages in a bid to tie him down at the club. Reports are suggesting that the Spanish Goalkeeper is close to signing a new contract which should be good news to United fans. David De Gea has been the main reason Manchester United have been able to attain 3rd in the league this season. The goalkeeper is a very vital part of our team playing every match this season and Coach Van Gaal will be looking to do everything possible to keep the goalkeeper at the club. However, Madrid will be looking to intensify their efforts to sign the 24 year old, but I am extremely confident that Manchester United will be able to keep the goalkeeper starting with his contract renewal.
