Medical Done, Chelsea Target Signs, Gets Number 22 Shirt & Breaks Club Record

With Oscar likely to leave the club this summer despite Mourinho’s numerous denials, Chelsea could do with another midfielder and have already been linked with so many midfielders. One of the names that has been linked to the club is Bayern Munich’s Xherdan Shaqiri. Aside Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal have been linked to the signing of the pacey midfielder.

However, Chelsea have lost out on the chance to win the FIFA under 17 world cup winner as he has surprisingly signed for Stoke City. Liverpool were initially thought to be the closest to sign him but oddly, the player has chosen Stoke City ahead of the other interested clubs.

He reportedly passed his medical yesterday and has been given the number 22 shirt. His number 22 printed shirt has reportedly gone on to become Stoke City’s high shirt sale ever which shows how popular the young Switzerland international is. Personally, I think Chelsea missed a chance of signing a truly talented winger. He will offer Chelsea much more than Willian would and he was available for cheap.

However, I just hope Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and the deal makers know exactly what they are doing in the transfer window. Failure to bring in the right addition, an attacker, a defensive midfielder and a centre back, will mean the blues will not be successful in their defense the title they won last season which will be a shame.
