Mesut Ozil Critized By Bellamy

Mesut Ozil Urged to Leave the Club by former Germany Captain

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has been the standout player for the Gunners this season. The German star has provided 17 assists in 24 league appearances this season and is on course to break the record highest number of assists in a single Premier League.

Ozil was recently linked with a move to Barcelona and now former Germany captain Lothar Matthaus has urged his compatriot o leave Arsenal for the Catalan club.

But Matthaus also concedes that the Gunners won’t be willing to let go of their prized asset.

‘It would surely be a gain for him [Ozil], since Barcelona simply is the cream of the crop, especially when it comes to attacking strategies,’ he told Yahoo.

‘They seem to look for someone, who can give inspiration there and strengthen the team more from the depth of midfield.

‘If next to Rakitic, there was someone like Ozil, who collected about 20 goal assists in the Premier League, which of course someone like Ronaldo and Real Madrid already profited from.

‘Of course, they are already very aware of that in Barcelona, but I’m pretty sure Arsenal won’t let him go.’
Ozil moved to Emirates Stadium in a £42 million move from Real Madrid in 2013.
