Michael Carrick & Wayne Rooney To Start Against Everton

Manchester United will be hoping to get back to winning ways after a disappointing game against Arsenal and on a positive note; Louis Van Gaal has certified Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick fit to take the trip to Merseyside on Saturday.

Preceding the international break, Wayne Rooney sustained a knock in the Game against Arsenal a fortnight ago and subsequently missed Englands matches during the Three Lions matches against Estonia and Lithuania respectively.

Also for Carrick, he was inactive during the international break as a result of a set back. However, the good news was confirmed via Manchester United twitter handle and the tweet reads:

Louis van Gaal tells #MUTV that Rooney & Carrick are fit to face Everton despite missing England games during the international break. #mufc”

Meanwhile, Rooney had returned in time to the trip to his former club and Van Gaal must be happy to have his captain in contention for the game even though he’s goal scoring prowess have been on the decline this season.

The midfield has always proven a headache for Van Gaal in terms of selection. Even though Carrick is fit, we might see a midfield pivot of Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger but the Presence of Carrick will definitely give the Dutch tactician viable options in the middle of the pack.
