Chelsea are preparing what has been termed the signing of the winter as they are yet linked with sign England and Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney, per reports.
The former Everton attacker was previously linked with a move to Chelsea after he reportedly fell out with the management of United over contract extension.
Despite being a mainstay in the Louis Van Gaal’s team, the 30-year-old versatile attacker was yet linked with Chelsea last summer and Mourinho is still keen on him and will attempt to lure him to Stamford Bridge in January.
The attack of Chelsea have been lacking in confidence and have consistently become goal-shy beginning this season. Diego Costa, Remy and Costa have scored three goals in the Premier League together and Mourinho is unable at their inability to score goals.
Meanwhile, Rooney has been deployed as a midfielder and rarely as an attacker this season but he has scored more goals than the strikers of Chelsea combined.
Mourinho has reportedly asked the board of Chelsea to sell some of the players and as part of the overhauling ask that some top-notch players are brought to Chelsea.

Chelsea are currently wallowing on 16th position on the Premier League log and qualification for Champions League might elude them if they don’t start winning games consistently.
