The managerial crisis at Manchester United this year keeps getting juicier! The latest rumor to hit the paper involves Jose Mourinho possibly taking an international role by becoming the boss of Indonesia! He is rumored to have snubbed several Chinese offers of mega money, but the confirmation has yet to come through that he will be Manchester United boss next season and he is itching to get back into management.
Mourinho has been linked with the Manchester United job for some time now and is thought to have agreed, in principle, to take over, but nothing has been confirmed yet and he is free to talk to other parties.
FourFourTwo magazine have suggested that the Portuguese boss could sign up to lead the team ranked 185th in the Fifa world rankings. It would certainly cement his legendary status if he could win the world cup with these guys!
He has reportedly held talk with sports minister, Imam Nahrawi, regarding the interesting and peculiar move. Nahrawi said:
“This plan has been discussed with President Joko Widodo and the Chairman of the Indonesian Olympics Committee, Erick Thohir, even though this won’t be easy. Our national team head coach must be a foreigner, accompanied with our local coaches as his assistant. When I asked Erick, Mourinho’s salary is about Rp250 billion [equivalent to £13million or €16.5million] per year. The motivation is that we want to awaken the fighting spirit of the players.”
