Mourinho To Hand 19 Year Old Surprise Start Against Dynamo Kyiv On Tuesday

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, while attending to a press conference today ahead of the game against Aston Villa on Saturday, has admitted he is a big fan of young midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek and believes the England youth will be a top player in the future.

Loftus-Cheek, 19, was earning lot of praises around this time last year and that made Mourinho hand a senior debut to the youngster in 2014, coming on as a substitute for Cesc Fabregas for the final few minutes of the Blues’ Champions League clash against Sporting Lisbon.

The Englishman would go on to make his Premier League debut in January, coming on for Oscar in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against Manchester City.

Since then, Loftus-Cheek has been a mainstay in the Blues’ first team – as promised by Mourinho – and although he has made just one league start for the team this term, the future is bright for the England U-21 star.

The tall midfielder has been at Chelsea since the age of 8 and has been impressive in the youth ranks, and he will now be hoping to feature more frequently for Mourinho’s side.

Meanwhile, he may have to wait a while due to the Blues’ disastrous start to the campaign as they currently languish in 16th place, with just two wins in eight league games.

Nevertheless, Mourinho could do with the talents of Loftus-Cheek, particularly as midfield men like Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas are currently underwhelming.

Now could be the time for Loftus-Cheek to stake him claim in the team!
