Antonio Conte has emerged as the frontrunner for the Chelsea job during the past week. Various reports are claiming that he could be appointed at the helm of the Blues as soon as this week.
Now, it seems like the Italian already has made plans to overhaul the Chelsea squad when he arrives at the club in summer. First shocking details are startign to unveil to public. Metro claims that the Italian will be looking to sell John Obi Mikel and Asmir Begovic following his arrival at the club.
Mikel is going through a resurgence in his career following the arrival of Guus Hiddink, and recent reports had claimed that he is set to be offered a new deal by the club.
But it appears that he hasn’t done enough to convince Conte and will be part of a mini clear-out at the club.
The former Juventus manager wants to replace Mikel with AS Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan. The Daily Telegraph has reported that the Italian is a fan of the destructive Belgian midfielder from his days in Serie A and wants to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
Another casualty, following the arrival of Conte, would be back up goalkeeper Asmir Begovic. The Bosnian arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer following the departure of Petr Cech. However, he has grown frustrated at the lack of playing opportunities and is looking for a way out from the club.
