“New Fabregas” Arsenal Plan Swoop On Another Barca Youngster

Arsenal and Bayern Munich are reportedly monitoring the transfer situation of Barcelona youngster Alex Grimaldo as he considers a transfer away from the Nou Camp.

The 20-year-old, who captains Barca’s B team, is unwilling to sign a new deal with Barca and could be set to follow in the footsteps of players like Cesc Fabregas and Hector Bellerin, according to the Daily Mirror.

Both players left Barcelona for Arsenal early on in their careers in order to pursue first-team football and found major success after moving to the North London outfit.

Grimaldo currently features at left-back for Barcelona’s B team and widely regarded as one of the most talented young defenders in Europe at the moment following his exploits in the segunda division.

But, with Jordi Alba current left-back for the Catalan Giants, Grimaldo could struggle to break into the Barcelona first team, making a move away from Barcelona that much more likely.

It is quite an uneasy task to break into the Barcelona first team as they boast of some of the world’s best players. Munir’s chances this season can be attributed to Lionel Messi’s injury but with the Argentine superstar set to return in time for the Classico Munir will see his playing time reduce significantly.

A move out of Barcelona would definitely be the best decision for Grimaldo to make as he is unlikely to feature for the Catalan giants In the near future except Jordi Alba picks up an injury.
