Various reports making the rounds in Italy are claiming that Chelsea can still land their coveted target, Paul Pogba after the former Manchester United man hinted that he is still open to a departure away from Turin, but not until next summer.
The Premier League defending champion were heavily linked with a move for the player towards the closing stages of the transfer window – they had an initial bid of £55 million thrown away, and improved the bid by £15 million, yet Juventus’ resolve to hold on to their most valuable player was not broken.
The maverick defensive midfielder was reportedly a subject of bids from several top European giants including Barcelona and Real Madrid, but despite pledging his commitment to the Old Lady, the 22-year-old France international has said he would reconsider his stance at the end of this season.
While speaking to French media giant, on a football program Telefoot, he said:
“It was not the right time for me to go, and i could very well remain at Juventus.
“Right now, I’m still happy to be there. We will finish the season and then we’ll see again.
He was also asked if, as speculated, he’s had any pre-contract agreement with Barcelona, he responded thus:
“I don’t know, for now I’m at Juventus and I’m focused only on them because we haven’t started well. As for the rest, we’ll see.”
Apparently, Pogba knows his future is not with the Old lady but it will take a whopping and enticing sum to be able to break Juve’s resolve for holding on to the coveted midfielder.
