Pedro Rodriguez To Fly To Stamford Bridge For Medical?
Chelsea fans have every right to be excited about reports making the rounds that Barca winger, Pedro has agreed a deal that will see the World Cup winner move to Stanford Bridge before the end of this window. While the reports are already flying around, with some Chelsea fans already hysterical about the possibility of having a line up of players that include, Hazard, Costa, Fabregas, and Falcao; it is important to analyse the behind the scene happenings that led to the player’s sudden decision to move to the EPL this summer.
Despite not being able to hold down regular shirt in the star-studded Barca team, Pedro remains one of the most sort-after players not just in the La Liga, but also in the whole of Europe. However, his sudden decision to swap the Catalan club for Stanford Bridge, despite his earlier decision to turn down a move to a couple of other clubs including Liverpool and Arsenal.
According to Sport Witness, despite the player not showing immediate interest in moving, and promising to think about the move; Pedro’s sudden decision to accept a transfer move to Chelsea all in less than 24 hours was a bit suspicious. It becomes even more suspicious when you consider the fact that the whole story was cooked up in the British media, with Sport newspaper jumping on the story and going to press with it without verifying the true stories.
Pedro, according to the Spanish outlet, was aided in his decision to move to England by both Jose Mourinho and the player’s former teammate, Cesc Fabregas. That the player was able to make up his mind to join the Blues in less than 24 hours is not the issue, rather, the Paper’s story, which claimed that a deal was reached in that very short period of 24 hours, cast a lot of doubts on the authenticity of the story.
The fee said to have been agreed for the player’s transfer to Chelsea, is believed to be just £21.6 million.
