Pep Guardiola Will Reportedly Choose Manchester United over Manchester City
Man Utd still haven’t given up on luring Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola to Old Trafford, according to reports.
United’s current manager Louis Van Gaal is expected to depart from the club in the summer, even though his contract runs until 2017, and United board has started looking for prospective replacements.
Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been strongly linked with the job, but Daily Mail reports that United chief executive Ed Woodward is hopeful of beating Man City to secure the services of Guardiola.
Guardiola has announced that he will be stepping down from his Bayern Munich job in the summer. He has also indicated that his next destination will be in Premier League.
Meanwhile Man Utd have decided to stick with current manager Louis Van Gaal for the rest of the season. Following the 0-1 defeat to Southampton on Saturday, reports emerged that the Dutchman has offered his resignation from the post.
However, ESPN, quoting club sources, has claimed that Van Gaal has made no such offer and he plans to stay with the club until the end of the season.
He attended club training at the club’s Aon Complex in Carrington as usual today.
