Petr Cech To Choose Between Manchester United And Arsenal

Chelsea shotstopper, Petr Cech is not likely to remain at the Stamford bridge once the new season resumes. The Czech international saw very limited time in-between the sticks last season following the arrival of on-loan goalie, Thibaut Courtois from Atletico Madrid. The 22 year-old who stands at 6 ft 6 inches has taken Cech’s spot of 11 years, and the 32 year-old is ready to leave the club for another English side.

A decision that was earlier met with great opposition from Jose Mourinho, but eventually got the backing of club owner, Roman Abramovic as a sign of good gesture for the services of the goalie in the past. Manchester United and Arsenal are the top competitors for Cech’s signature, and he admits he is yet to make his final choice. The Czech skipper said when asked of his future after the club’s post-season game against, Sydney FC in Australia,

“I don’t know. I will fly back now and join the national team. Then when the season is over I will weigh up my options and decide. I’m just going back to join the national team and then I will think about it.

Czech will be playing Iceland in the Euro 2016 qualifiers.

United are set to lose DeGea to Real Madrid before the window closes, and they have plans to lure the veteran Chelsea keeper to the Old Trafford. But Arsenal remains clear favourites to get Cech. His family has been settled in London for years, and joining Arsenal wont make him relocate. Gunners legend, Liam Brady has also joined those supporting Cech’s move to the Emirates. Brady says, “If they’re going to sign anybody, they should look at Petr Cech.”
