Arsenal and Manchester United have continued to maintain their interest in signing Adrien Rabiot. It is reported by the Independent that the Gunners have asked Paris Saint-Germain to keep them updated on the availability of the 20-year-old. However, Arsenal may need to offer £20m to make a deal possible.

The midfielder has had limited first-team chances this season and would look for a better chance at other clubs if it is available. Since Arsenal hasn’t yet made any official move for the player he may be heading off to Marseille on a loan move.

However, latest report states Manchester United already placed £20m offer and Anthony Martial teased his fans on Instagram two days ago that a ‘surprise is coming’.

Rabiot has only appeared in nine French Ligue 1 games for PSG this season, but a potential move to acquire him, seems to be on hold from the London club, considering they just signed Mohamed Elneny.

With Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere and Francis Coquelin soon to make a return from injury, Rabiot’s chances of moving to the Premier League seem less likely. Therefore, the player might opt for a loan move away from the club if a permanent move isn’t in the books this transfer window.

According to Daily Mail, the France international has requested his club’s president for a loan move. Rabiot said, ‘I’ve asked the president for a loan move in January if my time on the field is insufficient. It’s something that he can’t refuse me – I know he likes me very much.’

‘When you train all week, you want to be on the field. Sometimes it’s not possible and it’s frustrating. Paris is my city. It’s great to play here. If I could impose myself here, it would be brilliant. I would be ready to play my whole career at PSG if I was a starter. I would see things differently, that’s for sure.’

Paris Saint-Germain currently leads the Ligue 1 table by a huge difference of 21 points between themselves and second place, Monaco. With the league only 21 games into the season, the massive lead of 21 points already means that Laurent Blanc’s side is on its way to win the title.
