Teenage Swiss sensation, Nishan Burkart who has joined Manchester United from FC Zurich is seen by many as one of the most exciting and auspicious players coming through the ranks at FC Zurich and has been tipped for greatness in his native Switzerland.
As a result of the move, 16 year old Burkart has now been seen in a photograph with Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs, which furthermore confirms reports that the Red devils have put finishing touches on a deal to bring the youngster to old Trafford.
His father, Stefan Burkart, confirming the switch, said: “We have decided to leave the club this summer, Nishan switches to Manchester United”. He was however critical of the FC Zurich president’s decision to stop playing his son in youth matches.
“This reaction by Mr. Canepa has disappointed us. We would have liked a more dignified exit. It makes me feel as if he is offended. He could indeed be proud,” Stefan said.
The club’s president, Ancilo Canepa, confirming the transfer insists he is happy to see the teenager leave for Old Trafford, although seemed to be quite disappointed as the club has prevented Burkart from taking part in the clubs youth matches for the remainder of the season.
Earlier reports had suggested that United have been negotiating with Burkart since December last year with other premier league rivals like Chelsea and Arsenal said to have shown interest in the Swiss prodigy.
For Burkart, the Theatre of dreams, it seems, will make all his aspirations a reality and he would be hoping to follow in the footsteps of fellow youngster Marcus Rashford who has had a breakout campaign after been handed his first team debut by coach Louis Van Gaal earlier in February.
