PICTURE: Chelsea TV confirms Lampard’s career with blues is over

When showing the schedule for the day, Chelsea TV referred to Frank Lampard as the “former blues midfielder”. Lampard’s agent confirmed earlier in the season that the club were not prepared to offer the veteran midfielder a new contract. However, after recent form there was some speculation that the club would be prepared to shift from their stance of only offering 1 year extensions to players over 30 and give Lampard the contract he wanted. The midfielder is Chelsea’s top scorer this season but it appears as though even that isn’t enough to keep him at the club.
