Powerful 6ft 2″ Tall CB Could Join Manchester United In January, Also Wanted By Chelsea – Not John Stones

Manchester United have started the new season on a high and find themselves in the third position on the English Premier League table and have also been fantastic in all other competitions they are in domestically and even in the European Champions League.

One major reason why United fans have had nothing but praise for their new manager, Louis Van Gaal this season is that the Dutchman has had to deal with a lot of challenges in the defence. He has been incredibly short of qualified hands in the defence and has had to make do with what he has and even had to convert several forward players to defenders with Valencia going in at right back and Ashley Young going in at left-back.

He has also had to convert Daley Blind to a centre-back as a partner for in-form Chris Smalling. Although, Phil Jones has returned from injury and has gone back to partner with Smalling but it is still very dangerous as the team stands at risk of losing defenders to injuries or suspensions or even fatigue and the season is still in its early stages.

United have therefore pointed their antenna towards Athletic Bilbao’ young French defender, Aymeric Laporte as a viable option to shore up the defence and give the manager more players to juggle at the back.

The Red Devils will however face fierce competition from Barcelona and Chelsea as his performances in La Liga have also interested Barcelona, who are still trying to get in a replacement for their legendary Carlos Puyol.

Chelsea meanwhile need a replacement for captain John Terry who will be 35 in December and will be leaving Stamford Bridge by June next year.

United will have to quicken their pace in pursuit of the player and will have to come up with the £35 million buyout clause by January or lose out to Chelsea or Barcelona according to reports.
