Branislav Ivanovic New Contract

Powerful 6ft 2 Tall Defender Set To Complete Chelsea Move In January, Discussion In Advanced Stage

Italian news outlet have chipped in with a claim that Chelsea are on the cusp of reaching an agreement with Serie A giants Inter Milan regarding the transfer of right-back Branislav Ivanovic.

The Serbian defender has clearly struggled to make an impact for the Blues this term and his horrendous mistakes have partially contributed to Chelsea’s dismal performances so far this term. There are claims Ivanovic was close to leaving West London in the summer, but boss José Mourinho opted not to let the experienced defender leave Stamford Bridge.

Arguably the best right-back in the Premier League last term, Ivanovic has alarmingly suffered a dip in form and there have been huge concerns over the player’s performances.

At 31, age seems to be taking its toll on Ivanovic as he has been targeted as the weak link in Chelsea’s defence this season, although some of the other Chelsea stars have also been off the pace.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan could get the Serbia international for free, should he see out his contract with Chelsea. Ivanovic’s current deal at the West London outfit is set to expire at the end of the season and with the defender struggling for form, the Blues could let him leave in the summer.

Chelsea suffered their 7th defeat in the Premier League this season on Saturday, after losing to Stoke courtesy of a brilliant volley from Mark Arnautovic.
