Premier League Manager Confirms: “Jose Mourinho Indeed Signed a Contract with Man Utd, It’s a Done Deal”
Rumours linking former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho don’t seem to go away. Every day, a new rumour comes out linking the Portuguese manager with the job at Old Trafford.
Now, former Tottenham and QPR manager Harry Redknapp has claimed that Jose Mourinho has agreed on a move to Man Utd.
He told American radio station, Sirius XM: “It hasn’t worked out at all for Louis van Gaal at Manchester United. It’s been a disaster for him. No doubt about that. From the people I know who are in the know, it seems Jose Mourinho to United is a done deal.”
These comments are the strongest indication that United have lined up Mourinho as a Louis Van Gaal replacement. Van Gaal has failed to deliver results at Old Trafford this season and has lost the backing of the majority of the fans.
Most of the fans want him gone in the summer and it looks like United board have heed the demands of the fans.
However, the Dutchman recently claimed that he expects the club to inform him if they talk with another manager.
“I have not said that we have spoken, but he [Mourinho] is my friend, so there you go,” Van Gaal told The Independent. “But I don’t know if Manchester United have spoken with Mourinho or not.
“I can only say that I have spoken with [United’s executive vice-chairman] Ed Woodward and I cannot imagine that they have spoken with each other.”
He added: “I think that if they speak with another manager, they would tell me because our relationship is like that. But I think that, if they want to change, they have to prepare themselves. That is also a professional attitude, in my opinion.”
