PSG Agree to Sell Edinson Cavani to Man Utd for £40 million

Man Utd have made Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani as one of their top transfer targets for the summer.

Latest report from Daily Star claims that the Ligue 1 club has agreed to sell their striker. The exclusive story claims that the Paris club is demanding a transfer fee of £40 million for the Uruguayan star.

However, the report also suggests that the Red Devils might hesitate in paying £40 million for the player who has just turned 29. United are interested in signing the player but they will try to negotiate the transfer fee down from PSG’s valuation of £40 million.

The Red Devils have previously attempted to sign Cavani and they were willing to £50 million when David Moyes was in charge of the club.

Cavani’s father recently claimed that his son is not happy with his role at PSG and could join Real Madrid or United in summer.

His father, Luis, told Israeli TV station Sport 5: “I would like to see him playing for Real Madrid, Manchester United or Juventus.”

“I want him to win the Champions League, but he has to play for one of the few teams who can do so,” he said. “You have to go to Barcelona, Real or Manchester, who invest in order to be European champions. It’s like with our national team — I always say that even our grandchildren won’t see them winning the World Cup.”
