PSG superstar Marquinhos demands to leave, United, Chelsea and Arsenal on red alert

With John Terry looking likely to leave Chelsea at the end of the year and Gary Cahill underperforming this season, Chelsea are on the lookout for a world-class central defender. With Mertesacker looking poor and Paulista not convincing, Arsenal are also looking for a central defender.

Vincent Kompany has been dogged by injuries at Manchester City this year and Manchester United don’t really have any convincing central defenders, so everyone is looking for a world class defender.

With that in mind, teams in England have gone into a frenzy as Marquinhos has demanded showdown talks with Paris Saint-Germain. Mundo Deportivo state that the defender wants first team football, and with Laurent Blanc preferring David Luis and Thiago Silva all season, the 21-year-old Brazilian defender is getting fed up with sitting on the bench.

Barcelona are also prepared to come in with a deal, having struggled in that position since Puyol retired but it is far from clear where the defender favors.

What is known is that he wants to have showdown talks with PSG to discuss his future and whether next year will allow him first team football. If Thiago Silva and David Luiz are kept as the preferred center backs, Marquinhos would surely look to force a move out of the club.
Some French newspapers are saying that he would love to sign for Barcelona, but it won’t stop English teams pursuing him and offering big bucks to come to England.
