Real Madrid are always looking for the best players in the world, and they have set their eyes on Chelsea ace Cesc Fabregas. The 29-year-old Spanish international is said to be on Real’s radar for some time now, and they may have the chance of luring him away from Stamford Bridge this season.
Chelsea has had a terrible season. They finished mid-table and will not be playing Champions League next campaign. The Blues have appointed Antonio Conte as the new manager, and the Italian boss is looking to overhaul his entire squad.
Fabregas may be caught up in the middle of it all. The Spaniard was impressive at the start of this campaign, but has slowly lost his rhythm.
Florentino Perez, Real Madrid’s president, is said to be a long time admirer for the former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder (via Don Balon). He has exceptional vision and can finish plays in an exquisite manner. Fabregas has not enjoyed the best season but is still coveted by Real.
Madrid has also been very interested in Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, so a double purchase is a real possibility. Fabregas is very familiar with La Liga and Champions League from his days in Barcelona, something that would greatly benefit Zinedine ZIdane’s side as they are always looking to win both tournaments.
