Report: Liverpool to hijack Arsenal deal for Leicester City player?

Liverpool are keen to bring in rising star Ben Chilwell. The English left-back has struck up some impressive performances and he is beginning to turn heads from the big clubs . The 19-year-old left back is surely one for Englandā€™s future as he is developing into a talented player. However, finalising a deal may be challenging as Leicester will be looking to keep their young star.

The Reds will pursue a move this summer as they look to shake up their defence. Liverpool value the youngster at a mere Ā£5 million. However, the Foxes are looking for a much larger fee before they agree to anythingĀ  especially because they are in no rush to let their stars leave, definitely not for cheap.

Chilwell has established himself along the English rankings.Ā  He has represented England at U18, U19 and U20 level. He has managed to successful move up the ranks nationally and now he will be looking to make an impact for the senior squad. It didnā€™t takeĀ  him long to impress, which only laminates his ability. He has done well for the academy where he picked up academy player of the year award at the Leicester city in the 2014Ā/15 season.

The youngsterā€™s rapid rise through the ranks continued as he madeĀ  his professional debut for Leicester City in their Capital One cup outingĀ  against Hull City in October. And he didn’t fail to impress. He was then granted another 2 appearances.
The highly-rated teenager has also attracted interest from Arsenal. Good left backs are hard to find and those available are locked up by their respective clubs.Ā  Therefore, a deal will need to be finalised and in good time before the rest of the big boys come chasing the youngĀ  left-back. Jurgen Klopp is keen to add Ā back – up for the left back position this summer.Ā  Klopp has stated thatĀ  his main motive is to improve the squad from the back. Although Chilwell is not the only player in that position they are after he surely is a cheaper and younger Ā alternative. Should Liverpool go for it?
