Louis Van Gaal Confirms "New" Left Forward Signing Is Done

Report: Man Utd Lining Up £20m Bid for Real Madrid Target to Solve Injury Crisis

Man Utd are monitoring Wolfsburg’s defender Ricardo Rodriguez, according to latest reports. The Sun reports that United have identified the Swiss international as a possible transfer target and are ready to pay £20m for his services.

The Red Devils are currently in a defensive injury crisis and are missing the services of Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo, Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young. Real Madrid are also interested in Swiss defender and are willing to spend €40m, however due to the current FIFA ban, Man Utd are favourites to land his services.

They also lost Matteo Darmian in the 1-0 defeat against Southampton on Saturday. Louis Van Gaal believes that Rodriguez can provide a much-needed boost during the injury crisis and also contribute to the team on a long-term basis.

The 23-year old signed for the German club from FC Zurich in a £7.5 million deal in 2012 and since then he has made more than 100 league appearances for his current club.
