Manchester United has yielded great results from youngster purchases for years now, the latest example being Anthony Martial. Now, The Red Devils are aiming at another young superstar by the name of Renato Sanches. The 18-year-old Sanches has impressed the world of football, making his first team debut for S.L. Benfica in November 2015.
Since then he has become a vital part in Benfica’s midfield, in both the local and international tournaments. His impressive command of the midfield attracted the attention of several big clubs, including Manchester United.
There has been long speculation about Sanches and Man U, and the move is now imminent. Portuguese newspaper Record printed a front page story suggesting negotiations are in their final stages, sealing the deal for the move to Old Trafford.
It’s no surprise that Renato Sanches himself is reportedly “prepared and excited” to join such a prestigious club. The reports suggest that the player “is fully aware” of the negotiations that will see him wearing The Red Devils kit next year.
The negotiation will cost somewhere near £45 million, and Man Utd seem eager to pay the price for the high rated midfielder.
Now the big question is: who will be Sanches’ manager? Rumors surrounding Louis van Gaal indicate he will be allowed to see out the end of his contract next season, so who knows what will happen next.
