REVEALED – Arsenal Already Sign DM, “New Vieria”

The saying “he who pays the piper dictates the tune”, is obviously one that plays out at Arsenal all the time as per Wenger’s transfer dealings. With the obvious need of a defensive midfielder and putting into cognisance Arsene Wenger’s track record in the transfer market, it is safe to say those expecting him to sign a defensive midfielder may wait in vein.

When quizzed on his relative lack of activities in the transfer market, with the perception that the club needs some reinforcements in some areas of the pitch, Wenger posited that he will only buy players if he finds them with the right or better qualities than currently possessed by his players.

It will be recalled that in the penultimate season, Wenger bought Krystian Bielik, a defensive midfielder who was dubbed as a wonder kid – then there is Isaac Hayden, sent on loan at Hull City, just a step behind the Premier League. Interestingly, the return of Hayden will coincide with the period when Arteta will supposedly be moving way from the Emirates – Wenger invests a lot of belief and faith in his young Guns and it is believed that he may decide not to go to the transfer market in search of a defensive midfielder because of his belief in the aforementioned starlets.

We also remember that earlier in the summer, Mathieu Flamini was linked with a departure away from the Emirates and that led to the belief that his exit will make way for another DM in the Emirates. Alas, Flamini is staying put and Arsenal have handed skipper Arteta a year contract extension – which leaves Francis Coquelin with two backups.

Nonetheless, we are uncertain of Wenger’s next line of action in the transfer market, but given his faith in his own actions and self belief, we may not see another defensive midfielder in Arsenal in the near future as he may deem them surplus to requirement.

Personally, I think Arsenal’s transfer business is done. Krystian Bielik is the new DM.
