REVEALED – Louis Van Gaal’s SURPRISE Signing

Louis van Gaal recently admitted during Manchester United’s pre-season tour of the United States that he is after a forward but he has refused to reveal the identity of his mystery man.

The Manchester based club has seen the departure of most of their attacking players this summer; Robin van Persie, Nani, Falcao. The future of duo Angel di Maria and Javier Hernandez is also in doubt with PSG reportedly set to sign the Argentine winger. This mass exodus would result in an over reliance of their againg captain, Wayne Rooney and with the club competing in different fronts this season, the signing of Dutch youngster Memphis Depay would not be enough. Thus prompting the club to go on a striker search.

United have been linked to a number of strikers this summer (Cavani, Muller and Benzema) but it has emerged that LvG’s mystery man is Juventus Spanish striker, Fernando Llorente. Llorente has struggled since sealing a free transfer from his hometown club Athletic Bilbao to Juventus two years ago. He has just managed a meagre return of 27 goals in 90 appearances. Furthermore, the signing of Paulo Dybala from Palermo and Mario Mandzukic from Atletico Madrid will push him further below in the pecking order having had to play second fiddlle to Alvaro Morata and the recently departed Carlos Tevez.

A move to England will be a good move for the 6ft 5in target man as he would be guaranteed more playing time in the Premier League club. But it remains to be seen if United would be able to get their man with Real Madrid reportedly interested in his services.
