Revealed – Real Reason Why Di Maria Joined Manchester United & Not Monaco

Di Maria has admitted to being convinced by Cristiano Ronaldo to join Man Utd. The Argentine was quoted as saying “at that time, we didn’t know for sure that I was coming or not, so we didn’t go into great detail, but what he did say helped me greatly to make my decision”.  Of course CR7 will have good things to say about Man Utd, after all it can be argued that he became the player he is today during his stay at the club and there is a likelihood that he will return, till then, we will be focusing on Di Maria.

Since his arrival at Old Trafford, the argentine has been sensational. Breaking the British transfer record for a whooping €59.7 million, the argentine international has been driving fans and pundit alike with his performances on the pitch. Already, Man Utd are fourth on the table and if he were to continue dazzling and producing breathtaking performances, certainly Utd’s return to the Champion’s League wont take as long as that of Liverpool. Already the fans are singing and chanting his names, and it seems he is already a cult hero. And he has been saying the right things in press as well, as he states that he and his family are settling down quite nicely, and he is getting better and better.

His transfer already looks to be the transfer of the season, and his talent alone seems to have changed the atmosphere in Old Trafford, with morale being boosted and the fear factor that oppositions once had for Man Utd gradually returning to the grounds. His teammates are also in awe of him, admiring his skills and respecting his contributions to the team. I would have loved to dwell on stats and how important he is going to be for Man Utd, but at the recent world cup in Brazil, he acquitted himself and endeared himself to millions of fans the world over. Last season at Madrid he was the standout player and created lots of chances for his teammates and now at Utd, he has not only been creating, he has joined in the action, scoring.

United with this transfer have been able to pass a strong message to the world that they are still a force to reckon with the world of soccer. First, they are still able to pull stars despite no Champions League. Falcao is another name that pops up. The Colombian signed on loan from Monaco after Di Maria signed and it might the attraction of playing alongside Di Maria that compelled him, this claim though cannot be substantiated. Also, with Di Maria’s acknowledgement of CR7’s influence in his decision to sign for Utd, there is a huge possibility that CR7 himself might be contemplating a move back to Utd, and fans must be certainly dreaming of seeing both CR7 and Di Maria in the Utd jersey tearing apart teams. Angel Di Maria has been the signing of the season and we hope he produces scintillating performances week in week out for Utd for seasons to come.
