Roman Abamovich Sanctions Mega £56m DOUBLE Signing For Jose Mourinho

If a report by daily star is anything to go by, Chelsea may be announcing the signing of two players this week after Roman Abramovich reportedly sanctioned a £56 million move for both John Stones and Antoine Griezmann.

John Stones have been the subject of two rejected bids from Chelsea in the last few weeks while Antoine Griezmann has constantly been linked with a move to Chelsea with some reports going as far as claiming club director Michael Enemalo was in Spain in July to hold discussions with Atletico Madrid.

With John Terry not getting younger and looking unlikely not to replicate the form of last season, manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on bringing in a long term replacement and from all indication, John Stones is the Portuguese’s first choice. Although Stones has also been linked with a move to Manchester United, it is believed the player will prefer a move to Chelsea should Everton sell.

The potential signing of Griezmann on the other hand is to further forfeit the Blues attacking line. With the trio of Falcao, Remy and Costa injury prone, bringing in Griezmann will be a double edge sword as he can play in midfield and as well as an attacker – as evident by his stellar performance for Atletico Madrid last season.
