Rooney’s Replacement? Manchester United To Sign €40m Rated Star In January

After a failed attempt by Manchester United to sign Lazio’s attacking midfielder Felipe Anderson in the summer, reports today indicate that United are preparing a bid to land the Brazilian. United who supposedly offered Lazio €40 million last season have a gentleman agreement in place with Lazio that would allow Anderson his dream move.

With a summer spending that saw United spend up to €150 million, United have been accused of lacking the predatory attacking instinct that they have been known for. Club captain Wayne Rooney has been leading United’s attack and though they find themselves fourth on the table they haven’t been real threat throughout the season. Rooney presently lacks form and as such United’s attack has been the worse for it. Felipe Anderson will prove a costly buy for United with reports suggesting a release clause of €80 Million. United will be accused of paying too much should they sign Anderson, but his recent form suggest a world class player. Against Torino during the weekend, the 22 year old produce the scintillating performance scoring twice and been solid defensively.

United will face competition from other big clubs, the likes of PSG, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid who are also interested in the Brazilian. The agreement between Lazio and United should see united having first option to signing Anderson. With Anderson turning out for United there is no doubt that United will be once again a force to reckon with the League and the Champions League.
