Costa Griezmann Swap

Say goodbye: Costa moving back to Atletico Madrid, player confirms rumours

Chelsea striker Diego Costa has hinted at a move back to La Liga club Atletico Madrid. As we reported earlier today, Diego Costa may move back to La Liga in a summer swap move with Antoine Griezmann, who will move in the opposite direction. Now the 27-year-old has fuelled those rumours by accepting that, much like Filipe Luis, a return to Vicente Calderon in future remains a possibility.

The Brazilian-born striker opened up to Spain’s Onda Cero about his plans and explained: “Who knows if I will return to Atletico, life always takes many turns… Look where Filipe Luis is. The truth is that I wish him well at Atletico, and always keep encouraging them from afar.”

Diego Costa along with Chelsea team may have kept the board, especially Roman Abramovich, on their side as they won crucial match against Porto 2-0. Chelsea needed a draw to ensure knockout stage progress.

But Chelsea must win their next match too as they face surprising current EPL leaders, Leicester City.

Costa has failed to replicate last season’s form for Chelsea this season and has managed to score only four goals in 17 appearances for the club.
