Shakhtar Donetsk manager Mircea Lusescu has confirmed that he will not stop reported Chelsea target Alex Teixeira from moving to an elite club in the summer. At this moment, Teixeira seems as the latest player from Shakhtar that’ll be secured by one of European football giants.
The Ukrainian club has previously supported the development of players such as Willian, Douglas Costa, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Fernandinho. Although they have been able to hold Teixeira this far, with an impressive form of 26 goals in all competitions this season, it seems inevitable that European’s football’s juggernauts will take a long look at this major talent.
Speaking to the club’s official website, manager Lucescu admitted he is always interested to see the club’s star players have successful careers at the highest level possible.
“We’ll see in the summer; for now there’s no point talking about it. This, he need to play so that he grows even more, despite the fact that Alex’s level is very high even today. In this case he will be even more in demand. At the moment there are no official proposals, so it makes no sense to talk about it,” he explained. “I want to see my players perform in the best, top teams in Europe. However, it seems like Chelsea quickly reacted to this claim and offered a contract to the player, latest report says Teixeira has not yet agreed.
The Blues are going through a tremendously rough season and a player like Teixeira coming mid-season would give all at Stamford Bridge a big boost.
