SHOCKER – Liverpool To COMPLETE Signing Of PROLIFIC Arsenal & Chelsea Target
Liverpool have been in the market for a world class striker since the transfer summer started. One of the very first names to be linked with the Reds was Lyon hitman Alexandre Lacazette, who Rodgers had earmarked as a priority signing to bolster his blunt attack .
The move looked set to happen for days , before Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas stepped in and reiterated that the forward was not for sale. He also stated that if the forward leaves at any cost, it will most definitely not be for Liverpool , as the player wanted to play Champions League Football which the Reds were unable to offer. As Lyon could offer that incentive to the player themselves , a move for Liverpool looked out of question.
Speaking to Canal+ last month, Aulas had stated : “We will do everything within our powers to hold on to Alexandre. You never have any certainties in football, but we are determined to keep him here. A transfer fee of €50m (£35m) would not be enough for an attacker like him. He is priceless.”
However , reports surfacing in Express Sport have claimed that Liverpool are back in the hunt for the player’s signature. Lacazette is seemingly interested in a move to the Premier League and interest from Chelsea and Arsenal had been quoted in the past. However, with Blues having signed Radamel Falcao on loan for the next season and Arsenal having made Karim Benzema and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang their top targets , options have dwindled for the Frenchman and Liverpool are looking to capitalize with a £40 million bid.
The Frenchman scored an impressive 31 goals in 40 games for Lyon last season and will provide the additional firepower that the Reds were missing last term. The prospect of Lacazette lining up in front of the Kop is an exciting one for Liverpool fans who will be hoping that their club can secure a deal in the coming days.
