SHOCKING – Arsenal Plan SURPRISE Move For £45m South American – Not Higuain

Arsenal are considering a surprise swoop for Manchester United’s winger Angel Di Maria, the Daily Mail understands.

The source suggest that Arsene Wenger is keen on a move for the former Real Madrid wing wizard who joined United last summer for a British transfer record fee of £59.7 million.

Di Maria started well in his first season in England but his form later suffered due to injuries and a ‘strained’ relationship with Van Gaal.

United boss Louis Van Gaal is as per Goal, thought to be rather ambivalent regarding Di Maria’s future at the club, with his transfer to the club having been masterminded by Ed Woodward rather than the manager himself.

Meanwhile, PSG and Bayern Munich are also among potential suitors for the 27-year old Argentine, with Goal claiming Di Maria already “has his heart set on a move” to the latter.

The talented dribbler’s advisors have earmarked Bayern as a possible destination, although the Bundesliga Champions are yet to make any bid.

Reports in France have also claimed Di Maria has agreed to join PSG in the summer. Manchester United, meanwhile, will not want to sell Di Maria to Arsenal even if the Gunners meet their valuation of the player. The Old Trafford club will rather sell their star man outside England.

The player is reportedly available for £45 million but his £280,000 a week wages might even be beyond the Gunners financial power, and this may hamper the player’s purported move to the Emirates.

Di Maria made 24 appearances in all competition for Man United last season, as he found himself overlooked by the Red Devils boss, Van Gaal.

Memphis Depay’s recent arrival from PSG will also make the ex-Benfica wide man consider his options. Di Maria is also thought to be keen to leave the UK after a break-in in his £4m mansion in February (Goal).
