Shocking news for Manchester United fans – Jose Mourinho to become PSG manager?

The possibility of Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal getting sacked has existed for the entire course of the current season. The fans have become restless and there is one manager who has been a constant prospect to be the next United manager, Jose Mourinho.

There hasn’t been any official agreement between the club and the former Chelsea manager, and it seems that Paris-Saint Germain might just steal the Special One for themselves.

Following Paris-Saint Germain’s elimination from the UEFA champions League, for the fourth consecutive time, current manager Laurent Blanc might be in danger of receiving the axe. Blanc has led PSG to French Ligue 1 title in all three seasons in charge, but hasn’t manage to achieve success in the Champions League for the Qatari owners.

Blanc readily accepted responsibility for the club’s elimination, which might very well lead to a change in the managerial position. Speaking after the defeat, he said, “Sure, [the future] is something we need to think about that but there are a lot more things we need to think about. We need to ask ourselves good questions and find answers as well.

“But of course I am responsible. I put the team together, selected it, the strategy we use. When we win, it is the players. When we lose, I take responsibility. Even though we made a few mistakes in the first match, we were still hopeful we could score tonight. We thought we would create plenty of chances.”

Being knocked-out from the Champions League has led to questions regarding Laurent Blanc’s career at PSG, and news suggests that the owners might try to lure Jose Mourinho away from Manchester United.

Mourinho has turned down the offer to coach PSG before, once for Real Madrid and second time to return to Chelsea. The Portuguese might be tempted to go PSG, but the chance to return to the Premier League is difficult to turn down.

The former Chelsea boss has also been given a heads up by United’s former striker, Diego Forlan. In a statement he suggested that someone of Mourinho’s calibre is what is needed at Old Trafford.

Speaking on 888sport, he said, “I think with what they have gone through in the past two years United would be better to have a coach with Mourinho’s experience.”

Only time will reveal Mourinho’s next destination. It could be the Old Trafford, but there are chances that United might miss out on Mourinho, if PSG or even Real Madrid is successful in convincing him to manage their respective club.
