Shocking news for United fans as billionaire owner wants to hijack Mourinho deal
As unlikely as it sounds, Manchester United are on high alert today as Everton look to swoop for Jose Mourinho. Roberto Martinez has had a fairly poor season at Everton as they find themselves in the bottom half of the table, and news reports circling this morning suggest that the Everton hierarchy is set to launch a bid for Jose Mourinho.
Jose looked certain to sign for Manchester United to replace the highly unpopular Louis Van Gaal at the end of the season. Might United have to now look elsewhere?
PSG and Manchester United have seemed the most likely destinations for the former Chelsea manager who lost his job after a chaotic start to the season with Chelsea this year. But, billionaire investor Farhad Moshiri now wants Everton to reach the upper levels of football and is willing to throw his financial clout behind the effort.
Previously, this possible move might have been completely out of the question given Mourinho’s excessive wage demands, but with Moshiri’s millions in the bank, they could certainly afford the transfer if Jose agreed.
Southampton manager, Ronald Koeman, who is credited with turning Southampton into a really good team, has also been mentioned as a possible option for both of Manchester United and Everton. Time will tell who is in charge next year and we can guarantee there will be surprises.
