Shocking rumour: Willian to join Ramires in Chinese Super League for £50m?
Chelsea star, Willian is being eyed by Guangzhou Evergrande, a Chinese Super League club. Willian has been a regular starter due to his consistent performances since joining the Blues in the winter window of 2013 from Russian outfits Anzhi Makhachkala.
The Brazilian has been a bright spark in a dark season for the former Premier League Champions. As a result, Willian has recorded an impressive 11 goals and six assist to his name this campaign for Chelsea.
A fee of aprroximately £50 million could tempt Chelsea of their 27-year-old winger. The chance to link up with former Brazil national team head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari and fellow countryman Paulinho could be exciting for Willian.
With a mere two years remaining on his current deal, the Blues would have to act decisively and grant the Brazilian a new deal worth £120,000 weekly wage. However, with numerous Chinese Super League teams willing to double that, Chelsea may well have to offer more for their wide – man.
It is believed that incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is an admirer of the Brazilian winger hence has no plans of selling their prized asset. Additionally current Chelsea caretaker boss Guus Hiddink has urged Chelsea to keep a hold of Willian despite interest from China. Hiddink has had nothing but praise for Willian having previously worked with the Brazilian.
Chelsea have already let Willians coungryman Ramirez leave during the January window for £25 milion. Chelsea do have a history of selling players that excel elsewhere; surely they won’t make the same mistake with Willian who has proven his worth.
