Signed, Sealed And Delivered – Brazilian To Join Arsenal In January

It is tough enough to be the subject of interest of a big club like Arsenal, but sometimes, it is even tougher to get the clearance to play for them. Such is the case of Brazilian youngster Wellington Silva who has been an Arsenal player since 2009 but has only featured and scored once for his employers in a reserve league game against Manchester United in 2010. Since then, the youngster has been loaned out due to work permit issues. The London based outfit had sought to acquire the Special Talent Visa but all to no avail.

Since when he arrived at the Emirates from Fluminense, the Gunners have had to continuously loan out the Brazilian with loan spells at Levante, Alcoyano, Ponferradina and just last season, Real Murcia.

Silva who was speaking from Brazil stated that: ’It was not as I expected, but things are starting to move again. It was tough enough, but now with the passport, I can now have a chance to return to Arsenal. Doors now open at any country in Europe, now more people are watching, including Arsenal themselves.’ The forward went ahead to express his excitement for having just about 2 more months to wait for his passport and with the new twist of things. The youngster also aims to become an idol at the Emirates and as such will give his best so that he can become a great player.

Silva went ahead to say: ’I need to think of Almeria, who are also in a tough league. I want to have a great season here so that Arsenal can see.’

It appears that Arsenal fans will be able to see their star in action in just about 2 months. It was believed that since the youngster has spent most of his recent year in Spain, he might soon be able to apply for a Spanish citizenship and that will assist with the processing that Arsenal are doing in England.

Silva’s shot accuracy for this season is 25% and could be way higher once he starts to train with the top guns at the Emirates. With the player under the watchful eyes of Wenger, there is a good chance of a change in fortune as he has not been doing well on loan so far.
