If reports in on social media micro blogging network twitter is anything to go by, Arsenal may be announcing the signing of Petr Cech in few hours today. This report if true, will be unusual for the gunners who are fond of announcing deals on Thursdays and Fridays ( except of us that of Ospina which was announced on Sunday ).
The reports claim Chelsea would have been announced as a gunner yesterday but due to whatever reason, that could not happen but the deal could now be announced today being a Saturday.
Cech, 33, is joining the gunners from Chelsea in a deal said to be in the region of £11 and £14 million depending on which of the figures doing the round you choose to believe. He has reportedly signed a three years contract and will earn £100,000 per week.
He is expected to be Arsenal number one shotstopper next season when fit. Ospina who took over the number one shirt from Szczesny last season is reportedly on his way out of the club with reports claiming Arsenal already accepted a bid of £3.6 million from Turkish side Fenerbahce for the Colombian international goalkeeper.
Szczesny who was initially said to be on his way out of the club on a season long loan deal will now remain at the club as a backup to Cech but it remains to be seen who will be the third choice especially as reports claim Damian Martinez who was third choice last season will spend another loan spell at a championship or league one club next season.
