The Redeemer? Liverpool Plan January Move For UCL Winner

After the signings of six players during the summer, Brendan Rodgers appears to be unsatisfied with his current midfield as AS (via Tutto Mercato Web) is reporting that Liverpool are interested in signing Real Madrid Russian playmaker Denis Cheryshev when the transfer market re-opens in January 2016.

Cheryshev, 24, joined the Los Blancos in 2002 at a tender age – he progressed steadily until he was loaned  in 2013 and 2014 to Sevilla and Villarreal respectively. However, his return to Santiago Bernabeu has been unpleasant as he has scarcely featured for Raphael Benitez. He has played only 14 minutes this season.

Now, as per the report, Liverpool will face competition for the player’s signature with Sevilla, Valencia and Zenith St. Petersburg also keenly interested in the midfielder. The report further claims the player has already set his sights on leaving the Los Blancos in furtherance of his career.

The start to the season for Real Madrid has been largely impressive – they bounced back after a draw in their La Liga Opener against Sporting Gihon by winning four games in a row, scoring 14 goals. However, they failed to score against Malaga yesterday and have moved third on the log behind Villarreal and Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Liverpool defeated Aston Villa by 3-2 and the fans will be delighted that their man of the match for yesterday is back from injury stronger and better. Next, Liverpool will be locking horns in the League with their City rivals Everton at Goodison Park next Sunday.
