Three Deals Manchester United Could Complete This Week
Louis van Gaal and the Manchester United board know that to compete for the league title next season and stand a chance of making a meaningful impact in next year’s Champions League, they need to make some marquee signings.
Despite signing Memphis Depay from PSV of Holland, the club still has a lot of work to do in the transfer window. Some players are already being linked with a move to the club. We now take a look at some of the players that could complete their moves to Old Trafford before the end of the week.
Jasper Cillessen
The Ajax goalkeeper is being scouted as a possible replacement for Madrid-bound David De Gea. Though, the club is believed to be monitoring the situation of Hugo Lloris at Tottenham, it does appear that the move to secure the Ajax man is looking likelier.
Sergio Ramos
One of the key areas United need to beef up this summer is in the defence; and no surprise that Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos is being linked with a move to Old Trafford. The player is reportedly angered by his club’s attitude towards his contract extension, and wants a move out of Spain this summer.
Bastian Schweinsteiger
The Bayern man only has one season left on his contract, and is being linked with a move to Manchester United this summer. Despite suffering from a series of injuries towards the end of last season, Schweinsteiger is one of the most coveted midfielders in Europe, and may not baulk at the idea of joining the Red Devils this summer.
