Three Strikers Arsenal Can Still Sign In This Transfer Window – No Benzema

From the open on the transfer window, Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema never stopped being linked with a move to the Emirates until yesterday when the player took to his official twitter handle and pledged his future and commitment to the Los Blancos, dispelling all the rumours of a possible switch from him.

Meanwhile, Arsenal hosted the Reds in a Premier league match that ended without a goal. The game as played by Arsenal, was described as brilliant but an average show-of due to the players inability to find the back of the net. The Gunners dominated the game but could not find the back of the net; it is thought that a world class striker in the Calibre of Benzema would have made the difference for Wenger’s men yesterday.

We take a look at three prolific strikers Arsenal can look at:

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

The 26-year –old has been impressive for German outfit Borussia Dortmund since his move from Saint-Etienne in 2013. The player has been on the radar of Arsene Wenger and this may the right time to lure the versatile attacker who can play on any position in the front role. Dortmund ended last season on a low, when they fail to qualify for champions league football. This may be the right time to lure the forward. He has 48 goals in 100 appearances for club, all coming from the left wing position.

Edison Cavani

Last season, the 27-year-old attacker was at his best ever for club as he scored two more goals better than his penultimate season. He scored 18 Ligue 1 goals and helped PSG claimed all the available titles in France. The player has been open about his frustration on the pitch stemming from being played on the flanks as Zlatan is favoured as the number 9 man. Cavani is reportedly looking for a way out of France to realise his centre forward dream and the Gunners can lure him to London to help him realise that dream.

Alexandre Lacazette

The 24-year-old French international has been described as one of the best and prolific goal scorers in Europe. He ended last season scoring 27 goals and 33 appearances for Lyon. Wenger can take advantages of the player’s nationality and bring him over to the London. It is understood that Lyon will accept a good offer for the player and Arsenal are capable of signing him.
