Three Strikers Arsenal Can Still Sign This Transfer Window

This period in the transfer window is characterised with twist and turns, intrigues, and heightened anticipation from fans expecting their clubs to seal deals that will strengthen or add depth to their current squad.

It is six days to the close of the transfer market, but the Gunners fans are yet dismayed at the club’s lack of activities in the window in terms of buying a centre forward – Arsenal have had to endure over 10 years of not winning the Premier League title, having shown a bit of stability and winning the FA cup for two years consecutively, the Gunners were tipped as contenders for this season. However, their displays have seen their legends, fans and pundits call for the acquisition of a top-notch centre forward.

We still take a look at centre forwards that can help the Gunners break the 10-year jinx of not winning the premier League.

Edison Cavani

The 28-year-old Uruguay international has been under the radar of Arsene Wenger from his days at Napoli following his stellar show-offs for the Italian side – He scored 104 goals in 138 appearances for Napoli. He has been unsettled at PSG following his inability to feature regularly in the centre forward position and has been open about the possibility of a move away from France.

Alexandr Lacazette

The 24-year-old French international has been one of the most sought after player in Europe following his performance for Lyon last season – He ended last season as the second top scorer in the French Ligue 1, scoring 27 goals and 33 appearances for Lyon. Wenger can take advantage of the player’s nationality and bring him over to the London. It is understood that Lyon will accept a good offer for the player and Arsenal are capable of signing him.

We remember in retrospect, the summer of 2013, Mesut Ozil reiterated that he would not leave the Los Blancos and pledged his future to them, similar scenario played out in the transfer of Sneijder and Van Da Vaart when they left for Inter Milan and Tottenham respectively – Wenger is implored not to give up on the 27-year-old France international, as he can still be lure to the Emirates despites his open submission of not wanting a move.
