Three Transfers Arsenal Are Likely To Complete This Week
With the transfer market gradually winding down, the Gunners are looking to balance up their squad with an in and some outs. There are indications that Real Madrid star is coming in and the duo of Joel Campbell and the hard-tackling Mathieu Flamini will be shipped out of the North London club who have their history spanning 129 years.
The news making rounds in the Spanish media says, Real Madrid are willing to accept a bid of £40m from Arsenal for the out-of-favor 6-ft-2in France born international striker. Benzema, is yet to impress Real Madrid’s new coach, Rafael Benitez, with his poor show offs for their preseason matches thus far. It is understood that Germany international forward, Marco Reus, is sought after by the Madrid bosses as a replacement for Benzema. Joel Campbel, 23, who was loaned five times away from the Emirates since he was bought, is completing a move to the Italian side Palermo, according to the Daily star. Palermo are opting for a loan move for the Costa Rica born forward after failing to meet his £7m asking price. Campbell, managed to put one past Elche FC during Valencia’s victory over the club in a La Liga match. He made 14 appearances for Valencia and failed to impress during his loan spell with the club. With Welbeck still contending for a place in the attacking line of Arsenal, Campbell may be on his way out of Arsenal as he seems surplus to requirement.
The 31-year- old hard-tackling France defensive midfielder, Mathieu Flamini, is been chased by Galatasaray. Flamini, lost his place to the energetic and very fit Coquelin and has fallen down the selection tray with Arsenal’s captain resurgence after an injury induced break from football. According to the Metro, Arsenal will accept a bid of £4m for Flamini whose contract elapses at the end of the coming campaign.
