Tomas Rosicky To Miss Two Weeks Of Action Due To Injury

Arsenal midfielder, Tomas Rosicky is set to be missing in action for at least 2 months after suffering a knee damage whilst on duty for Czech republic against Iceland during their Euros 2016 qualifiers. That means he won’t be available for team selection for the earlier part of the season as Arsenal hope to challenge for the title after 10 years of being without it.

This is coming barely few months after Rosicky just put pen to paper, in a deal that will keep him at the Emirates for the next one year. The 34 year-old joined Arsenal in 2006, but have had series of on-and-off injuries since then, limiting his total appearances to 170, and making just 15 League appearances last term.

Wenger confirmed the Czech’s skippers injury,

“Rosicky came back with a knee problem from the international Czech game against Iceland. He will be longer; four to eight weeks”

He has since underwent an arthroscopic surgery on his knee. Rosicky joined the likes of Welbeck and Arteta on the injury sidelines, limiting their contributions to Arsenal’s chances of winning a title. With his constant injuries, Arsenal might do well by letting him at the moment.

He is no doubt a fine player, but the team can do well without him, and his departure wouldn’t have any impact on the squad. As his sales would rather come handy in recruiting younger legs. The former Borussia Dortmund currently earns a whopping £85,000 Pounds on a weekly basis. And that wages for the next one year could have been used to get younger players who would be useful to the team on a long-term basis, either as starters or useful substitutes.
